How it all started...
Trinity Church has served the surrounding community for over 160 years. The church was first formed in 1854 by the coming together of three congregations, Harmony Church, Liberty Church, and Providence Church, after two years of sharing camp meeting worship, believing that "in union there is strength." The first location was located in the rural community of Stinson.
Expanding the vision...
In 1908, the church building was destroyed by a cyclone and, after much discussion, the present location, where the old Stinson home formerly stood, was obtained. The community's name had now been changed from Stinson to Durand. Our church has often been referred to as, "The Little White Church on the Hill."
Where we are headed...
In 2022, we changed our name to Durand Trinity Church, but we are still just that "Little White Church on the Hill."
